Sadsvit

Sadsvit is a Ukrainian singer-songwriter who became one of the best-known figures of the new wave of Eastern European post-punk and darkwave in the 2020s. His music is built on melancholic synthesizers, cold guitar tones and a nostalgic, often lo-fi sound, while capturing the atmosphere of post-Soviet urban life and a sense of generational uncertainty. The project began spreading rapidly on the internet in the early 2020s - especially thanks to the track “Касета” (“Cassette”), which also became a recurring soundtrack for videos made during the initial period of the Russian aggression and for footage arriving from the front line, giving many of the clips shared across social media an encouraging, unifying mood.
