Anni Kinnunen (FI)

Anni Kinnunen is a Finnish visual artist working with photography, video and installation. Her practice is based on constructed situations in real environments, often involving her own presence in front of the camera. Her works address surreal desires, fears and the subconscious, where the line between dream and nightmare is often thin. Over the past two decades, Kinnunen has exhibited internationally across Europe, Asia and North America. Her work has also been widely shown in museums and galleries throughout Finland. OMENS is a new installation exploring the unnoticed transformations of reality. The work begins from the idea that what appears stable is, in fact, constantly changing, and that reality does not shift only through events, but also through atmosphere, mood and subtle changes in perception. In this work, an omen is not a certain sign of the future, but a way of sensing change already underway. The installation explores the uncertain moment when control may already be lost, while the direction of the future remains unclear.
