1024 Architecture (FR) - Scanline

1024 architecture is a French creative studio working at the intersection of art, architecture, light, sound and digital technology. The studio creates immersive installations, audiovisual performances and large-scale spatial works that explore the relationship between physical space and digital media. Their projects have been presented internationally at festivals, cultural institutions and in public spaces. The studio also co-developed MadMapper, a software widely used for video mapping, light installations and architectural projection. Scanline is a minimalist yet powerful audiovisual installation that visualizes the slow erosion of our planet through the language of light, sound and digital space. Comprising a 2K video projection, a single red laser beam and a two-channel ambient soundscape, the work follows a red line as it travels across a stark, computer-generated landscape. As the beam scans the desolate terrain, it exposes a depopulated and deteriorating environment, evoking gestures of measurement, control and destruction. At INOTA, the work will be presented as part of the continuous Theatre Hall audiovisual programme, where projection, laser and sound come together in a dark, hypnotic spatial experience.
