The 2023 INOTA Festival was created as a joint initiative of the Budapest NVC event collective and Centrum Production, guided by the objective of establishing Hungary's largest audiovisual festival focusing not only on forward-thinking music acts, but also light installations, mappings and other contemporary visual works - often integrated directly into the musical performances. Shapes of the past and the future merged into a strikingly original unity in the stunning grounds of the Inota thermal power plant near Várpalota, one of the largest industrial projects of Hungary’s socialist era.
In 2025, INOTA returns in festival format from August 28 to 31, bringing boundary-pushing electronica, classic techno, new wave trance, and emerging figures of the young rave scene to life amid industrial ruins and mesmerizing light installations.
