Konstantina Tompoulidou - Your memory of a glacier

INSTALL

Konstantina Tompoulidou was born in Serres, Greece in 1997. She holds a degree from the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment and is currently studying at the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in the Department of Visual and Applied Arts, with a focus on Printmaking. She also engages in constructions and visual installations.

Nature is a central source of inspiration in her work, which focuses on the depiction of landscapes,
patterns, and objects through a personal visual language. Combining her scientific background in
environmental studies with her artistic exploration, she investigates concepts such as flow and rhythm. Her work represents an effort to connect space, time, and consciousness, creating a sensitive and personal visual vocabulary.

β€œIs a landscape merely a space? Or is it a place for contemplation and introspection? How can a landscape become an extension of ourselves - of our very psyche? When I find myself within a landscape, I listen closely, I observe my sensations. I see what I see, and I hear what I hear, because these stimuli enter my sensory field. At the same time, these impressions awaken the inner process we call thought. Perception, in dialogue with thought, creates a sense of wholeness - it forms a kind of harmony. This work, YOUR MEMORY OF A GLACIER is a synthesis of these elements: a space shaped by perception, reflection, and inner experience. Through the interaction of glass, printmaking, and light, I attempt to rearticulate the silent workings of my mind. The sculptural installation becomes a vessel for memory - a reflection of a spiritual and emotional journey.”
