Although Hamburg’s Martin Stimming has played on some of the world’s biggest stages, he has always approached the house genre with far more intricacy than most of his peers: he crafts his own sounds by hand, makes use of field recordings (from pizza cutters and coffee machines to vinyl cutting plants), and each sample is used only once. His music is rich in detail and layered with subtle textures. Timeless. “I´m neither afraid of showing my emotions nor afraid to include them in my music”, he once said - and it’s hard to argue with that if you listen to his signature productions.
On the cover of his 2025 album Friedrich, snow-white pigeons gaze back at us, as if to say: there are things around us we barely notice - they’re so natural, so ever-present, that they only stand out if we are consciously open to them. In these mental states, new worlds can open up, and we may stumble upon truly fascinating things. That will likely be the case at his Inota performance, too.
